This might seem pretty stupid, but you could softmod your hard modded Xbox (using original Bios). It should work if you ignore the modchip.
Otherwise your problem does not originate from your chip.

I'd ask the question: what happens if you turn the chip off, assuming you can do that? If the audio problem persists then it most likely a hardware issue.
