Xbox Video Is Running With My Hd Component Hooked
« on: March 08, 2004, 02:04:00 PM »

1. Do you have an HDTV set?
2. If yes, what resolutions does your HDTV set support? (480p, 720p, 1080i)
3. If your set does not support any of those hdtv resolutions, turn them off in your MS Dash video settings.

Happens to a lot of people. They choose an option which their set can't output.

My question is, how can you turn of the unsupported HDTV mode settings, if you can't see a thing? If you use the standard AV pack, those options don't show up, do they?

<edit>
I just remembered that the stock dash is only 480i (or am I incorrect the second time around?) smile.gif

Correct. MS dash is only 480i. Only way for you to get into real trouble is if you patch the stock ms dash to display at 480p all the time and you name the 480p dash as xboxdash.xbe as opposed to something different like xboxdash480p.xbe.

4. Does your Samsung LCD support 480i through component?
5. What happens when you have 480p enabeled in your MS dash, insert a 480p enabled game like Halo, and have your component cables hooked up to your sammy?

6. Again, what resolutions does our Samsung LCD support through component video in?

This is done very easily UnleashX:

U just plug the green connector from your HiDef Pack into the the video/composite plug (usually a yellow cinch connector) and u should have a picture.
It's ofcourse not a coloured one but u can set the necessary adjustments in the menu to suit your television!!!
