Have you checked the DVD on a real DVD player?

Maybe you used a disc that your Xbox just don't like?

I didn't check it in a normal dvd player..
(i have a phillips wich only suports dvd+ format)

I looked everywhere but i can't find,
wether a clean or a modded box supports dvd-r/rw format.

If not, not realy a problem..
only in that case I might have to considder to purchase a
-r compatible dvd player...

not that I'm very rich or so.. but I'm addicted to movies :)

Just to make sure...you mentioned you don't have a mod chip installed.  Do you have the DVD player/remote for the XBOX?  Do prerecorded DVD movies play fine in your XBOX?

Mr,. Ed

yep unmudded (still) and ofcourse with dvdplayer set
and yes original dvd's play fine..

now i found out dvd-r is supprted by an unmodded box
dvd-rw not

a modded box (XC2) supports -R /-RW +R/+RW

thats what i was looking for :P

i'm still considdering if i still shouldn't buy a standalone dvdplayer
to save the box a bit  :)
