no basis for comparison for me since all I own is the A04.  I thought about springing another 50 bucks for the A05 but with the current prices of 4X media I couldn't justify it.  Maybe once I can get spindles of 50 DVD-Rs for 29.95 and 40X DVD burners for $50 I'll upgrade again biggrin.gif

Just got myself the Sony DRU-500A and works very well for me. Upgraded to latest firm (1.0f) as well.

Really happy with this burner.  biggrin.gif

I have an HP DVD200e, and have so far burned 20 games flawlessly, downloaded ISO, backup ISO etc...

All work fine...

I did (possibly) coaster a few in the beginning when I didn't know how to backup or burn properly (last month hehe) but now everything is flawless.

I use "HP", Imation, and Verbatim media (DVD+R) all work fine and read fast.

my pioneer 104 has had ZERO failures and ive used over 100 dvd-r's (princo). although to be honest with you if i was going to go and buy a dvd burner now it would be the sony which does both formats. but Pioneer is definatly the shit.

I was gonna buy the sony, but have read some probs about it. For this reason, I'm gonna buy the newer 105 pioneer. Do you think i'll have same performance results as the 104 with burning/playing games ?
