Ps3 Fat Hard Drive Upgrade Questions

I will be getting a PS3 fat soon. I want to upgrade the hard drive to either 500 gb or 1 tb where can I find the appropriate hard drives, how do I upgrade the hard drive, and will I be able to connect to PSN without getting my account closed or my console bricked?
