20$ Dollar Ps3 From Craigslist With Issue's

Ok here is the deal, i found a guy with a ps3 for 20 buck from craigslist. the unit does not power on but i have fixed countless xbox and thought "for 20 bucks what the hell give it a shot" i get it home plug it in and all i get is the red light nothing else!! the red light does not blink it does not turn yellow or green or blue. when i press the power button nothing. i took the whole thing apart and reapplied the termal compund put it all back togeather and still the same thing red light. i was hopeing this could be a loose cable or some stupide shit like that. now my question's are

1. since i get a red light does that mean that my power supply is good?
2. could this be somthing as easy as the power/eject board being faulty?
3. is it worth trying to fix should i try to get my money back from ebaying it or drop another couple dollars in trying to repair?

and help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!!!
