Hello all,

I had an 80GB ps3 that I replaced the laser by buying the deck/laser combo. Everything went well and working fine.

I also picked up a 40GB ps3 recently that was not reading games. Upon opening up the system, it was a KEM-400aaa deck.

My question is, what laser do I get?
Do I still get the KES400a? Or is it the 410-aca lens?

What confuses me is the KEM400aaa deck. Is it the same for all consoles?
On ebay, I see different model decks. Does that matter?

thanks, i was all ready to get the KES400a lens from an ebay store.

auction

but they were so adamant that it wouldn't work for the 40gb.
I explained to them that I had the same lens, but they still said it wouldn't work.
I've ordered from them before and like their service. I just thought there were some firmware that wouldn't make it work.
