Acer Iconia Tablet With Android 4.03
« on: October 11, 2012, 08:29:00 AM »

I've been working on getting my newly purchased Iconia to share my Ethernet connection through USB, but I haven't had any luck with it yet. I have tethered my Galaxy (Android) celly prior with no problems installing.  I know it will work with Wi-Fi, but I don't have any hot spots where I am located. Is it some other software needed to tether between tablet and PC or what? I'd never thought it would be this painful to share just the connection among the two devices. I know that PDA Net works well with Android cell to PC. What is available for tablet to PC though?

SPECS:

Acer Iconia Tab

Model: A200

Android version: 4.03

Kernel version: 2.6.39.4+

Windows XP Pro

no idea about this one..

al i cann reccomend is you set up internet connetion sharing.
this will asign your PC a statick ip address of 192.168.1.1
thats should then be used as your androids default gate way..
if your also using a router instead of a modem then you should just connect it to the router and not bother with ICS.

however if your using a modem not a router then ICS should be the way to go.
asign a static ip with the range 192.168.1.x to your devices (1) has to be the pc due to ICS. so your android thing could be.. 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.254.

hope that helps "i really dont know if it will or not"

I am confused by the set up, can you please explain in more detail?

I have hooked everything you can think of up one way or another.  Are you trying to share your computers (win xp) internet connection via USB to the tablet?

Your Galaxy being tethered means your cell phone is providing the internet connection to either your PC or your tablet.

I can help I just need more details.
