« on: May 26, 2004, 01:20:00 AM »

hey guy, sure while saddam and his regime was active, they did alot of murder and so on. the usa came and was spose to help to build up an better iraq.

the last few weeks some pictures and videos showed up, which didnt show what many american were thinking. instead of helping and understanding, us-soldiers were playing, treating, and killing iraqis like animals.

i saw the pictures on news channels, i was shocked, scared and felt hate.

now i get to see these pictures ...

QUOTE (self @ May 26 2004, 03:06 PM)
I dont know what to say. If these are real it's even worse than I thought.

I must say I have doubts that they're real though. I'm thinking they might be just as fake as the other ones that appaered in the Daily Mirror. Why haven't any other news station reported these? And I've never seen masks like the ones they're wearing before, does anyone know if thats standard military equipment? And don't these uniforms usually have a flag sewn in on their right arm? Also, these girls dont look arabic to me at all.

Until I see other news sources reporting this, I'm very sceptical.

Most of the rape scenes are apparently fakes wink.gif There are other versions of the one where the "soldiers" are pulling the black clothing off of the woman standing up, and she is all "trimmed and neat" like a porn star! Its was also pointed out (and its blurry in that same pic) that one of the "soldiers" is holding a paintball gun, not a firearm! rolleyes.gif

This thread is idiotic, as Moistness said, the pictures are the disgusting result of pornographers - who've even been charged with fraud or something over the images.

People will believe propoganda when it suits their needs, though. You feel hatred over phony images meant to evoke exactly that emotion.

Congrats. You've been owned! I hope you feel as much shame about letting yourself be twisted and used like toilet paper as much as the hate you felt seeing the images.

Yet it is undeniable that atrocities have been carried out at the Abu Ghraib prison with the knowledge and tacit approval of senior US officials.
"My impression is that what has been charged thus far is abuse, which I believe technically is different from torture," secretary of defence Donald Rumsfeld said at a press conference. "And therefore I'm not going to address the torture word."
"Yes, Mr Bush said in Washington on May 6, standing alongside King Abdullah II of Jordan, he was "sorry for the humiliation suffered by the Iraqi prisoners and the humiliation suffered by their families"."
So although there have been well documented fake photographs for which there is NO excuse, there has still been systematic abuse in the now to be (conveniently) closed Abu Ghraib prison.

And now I hear they plan to 'raize' Abu Ghraib to the ground......and sweep the rubble under the nearest available carpet no doubt.  wink.gif

I have to agree with BJ and moistness on this one. The pictures look like fakes to me. The women dont even look Iraqi.
I should point out that although the mirror pics proved to be faked, it is widely regarded that they are based on actual events

Sort of off topic but I think it shows how these soldiers are not to blame. Command of chain is there to stop this type of stuff in my opinion.

I'll excuse your poor choice of words on that...

The guards that committed attrocities towards Iraqi prisoners are certainly to blame and be held accountable for their actions.  As well, their immediate superiors are to blame and be held accountable for their negligence of a watchful eye.

As far as the 'new pictures' show in the posted link in this thread... it looks like cheep sick porn to me... not abuse...

some of those pictures are from porn (that is clear, and I even found a porn site w/ the pics on it, WARNING, SEXUALLY EXPLICIT CONTENT AHEAD But, not all of them are from porn. Some are real, and the real ones are disturbing....the porn ones were not disturbing from the first place....

EDIT: plz don't ask me why I have this link or how I got it....lol

hey, if any of these such acts that ive heard bush say "dont represent the american people" are real, then thats some bullshit

i thought bush said "your either with the US or with the terrorists"

so when the prisoners were abused by US soldiers, were there actions with that of the US' or with that of the terrorists?
if u say with the US' then i would say the US needs to reshape its army, and rethink its long road ahead

if you say with the terrorists, i say the us does harbor terrorists after all.........

I am grateful your opinion is not shared by many others. But I will refrain my opening a can of flaming, as I've grown weary of such lame posts. Your opinion after all, should be respected; even if it is disagreed with.

If they were properly supervised and trained it wouldn't have happened. I don't blame these soldiers at all for that.  Just my opinion wink.gif

So your 'opinion' is that people should not be held accountable for their own actions and if someone murders someone, it isn't their fault, because they weren't 'properly supervised and trained'???  uhh.gif

It is ok for you to have your own opinion, and it is also ok for my opinion to be that your opinion is el retarded...

Okay, I can tell you for a fact that the Stanford Experiment is not a suitable analogy. 'Social Experiments' are not viable studies anymore, and haven't been for decades. The fact that the Stanford Experiment was just that, i.e. an experiment means that it was conducted under controlled conditions and therefore is not a truism of social interaction. I used to love studying all the 'elevator scenarios' but they were never allowed as 'templates of reaction' because they are not recognised by Sociology as acurate projections.
I'm personally amazed that anyone is trying to excuse the actions of the people involved in this terrible display of inhumanity.
