Bought An Xbox And It's Modded, What Now?

you need to get into FTP in a big way to make this worth while. Your xbox may be on its last legs, I am guessing that it has a 10 GB hard drive, which means it is probably running a stock hard drive. either way, the drive is dying if you hear it clicking. Good news though, you can backup pretty much everything and setup a new hard drive for it (which I would recommend since it's clicking)...

As T2Steve says, to help you work out what to do with it we need to know how your Xbox is modded. If the screws on the bottom haven't been removed then it's almost certainly a softmod.

As Heimdall said (guy's a legend, seriously he's awesome) backing up your EEPROM is the absolute most important thing to do at this point. They *are* recoverable without a working hard drive, but you will be looking at doing a bit of soldering or purchasing on ebay. It's not the easiest thing in the world to do.
