Should I Update?

Hi,

I bought a modded xbox360 some years ago and, up until now, all backups have been playing smoothly.

Today I got GTA V and once I start it, it asks for an update, otherwise it won't play.
I'm afraid that if I do the update, all my backups won't be playing anymore...

I'm really not familiar with modding. My firmware is 2,0,14719,0.
Will it be safe to accept the update? Or will I have to mod it again?

Go ahead and update. Its safe. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)
Gta V will update to 16202.

Thanks! I did it and all the other games are still running!

Still asks for an update to have access to xbox live.
Now I wonder, if I accept it, will the backups still be playable? Or there's just no way of keeping the mod after the update to get XBL?

Firmware now is 16202.

I am in the same situation.  I havent updated my J-Tag in quite a while.  I got what I thought was the latest version of J-Runner v0.3 beta.  For some reason I had dash 16537 as an option.  Is that even a real dash?  Well long story short.  My xbox wont boot at all right now.  No Xell and No regular JTAG.  
What can I do...

Sounds like you might have not made your image right and need to physically hook up a programmer to it and reflash it with a proper image.

If you are on 16202 and already updated and it didn't mess up your firmware mod, then you are ok because you are way past the dash that reflashed the drives to stock.  The last firmware 3.0 for most drives came out December XMAS 2011 and MS has not dont anything to compromise the firmware or anything with dashboard updates for a long time.
