I like how TX says this is a NO SOLDER solution but don't you have to solder the power leads for the motors?  I know that's minor compared to a Nand Flash but it still can't be considered a full no solder solution.

I think this is not the final product because they say "the install will simply be a cut and clip design" so i think they will change this on the final product just wait they show what they promise a custom board not a modified one.

The new Liteons in the Slims have a write protect.  You can not write back the firmware.  With this, you get your firmware off the original PCB and then put it on this one and it has a write protect on - off switch on it.

I wonder whats the cheapest way (equipment wise) to do a IC replacement. This PCB is a bit too pricy for me

still have to send in your drives to a professional for whatever unlock method you choose for people like myself that have no experience with a soldering iron. no problem though, cannot wait until these replacement boards release (:
