ive tried it once... ruined my xbox...
its not very hard or very tricky.  you just have to be EXTREMELY AND I MEAN EXTREMELY CAREFULL...
i had my xbox runnin and my dumbass let postitve touch negative on the switch... only do this if your well off at soldering.  heres the link
