Well, what happens when you turn the chip off? You should boot to the M$ dash, meaning you aren't booting modded.

If you have the same hard drive in there as you did when you bought your xbox then it's already locked.  If you upgraded, then put your old hard drive back in, and unlock it and then put your new hard drive in and lock it.  I think the latest X2 bios has a Config Live where you can do this.. but am not sure since I use a x3

Just get Config Magic and lock the drive. Simple as that... no need to swap the old drive and the new one.

Just make sure you have the MS dash installed or you'll get another error when its not found.

I used a slayers 2.6 install which i know installs the msdash because i use it on mine.
It is a new large harddrive and i know right now its unlocked.
Im gonna try using configmagic to lock it and see if that does it.

I also have one more question. With an Xecutor 3 chip and full X3 Front panel, is there a way to turn it on with the chip either off or stealthed to get on xbox live?

If you used Slayer's then just use the option in the menu.
