1080i still has 1080 lines of resolution... it just displays half at a time.. how is it decieving?  it being  interlaced helps standard analog  signals a bit.. maybe thats just me..

Don't have a HDTV and I have no plans of buying one. HDTV's cost way too much and there is no where near enough support for HD in the US. My friend just dropped like $3000 on a 50" HDTV widescreen, $600 on a HD dish network reciever, and has to pay an extra fee every month for HD programing. It's just not worth all that cash to get a little sharper picture. I'll keep my analog TV's as I have bills to pay and don't need to be wasting money on a HDTV.

I've got a CRT projector nearly two years ago which supports resolutions up to a little higher than 720p.  Got it for only $400 cdn which at the time was <$300 US so not a bad deal.  I agree that prices need to come down before more people buy HDTVs but that will come with time (hopefully)

I have:
57" Widescreen HDTV with a Halo 2 HUD burnt in - 1080i - darn shame...
23" Widescreen HDTV LCD monitor/TV 1280x768 (720p) mounted on my wall
15" Fullscreen 1024x768 LCD TV (480p is the only thing it truly supports, so EDTV?)

I'd love to get a hdtv but prices are too high and I think i'll wait untill the technology is refined and prices drop. At the moment I'm happy with the 29" flat screen crt sony I got secondhand on eBay for £24!!!  biggrin.gif . Got to love eBay and especially the local pick up only items!.

Please MAKE ANOTHER option ---

I own Two HDTV's - one 1080i Max and one 720 Max.

Or just: I own two HDTV's and can view 720P and 1080i without upscaling or downscaling.

A lot of us, like me, have more than one HDTV. One of mine is 1080i native, the other 720P native.

dont loose sleep over it, dork.

When I go home I have my dad's 55" Widescreen Hitachi that does 480i, 480p, 540p, 720p, and 1080i.  It's amazing just with my regular xbox, plus he has hd directv.  At college I have a 17" widescreen LCD that does 480i/p, 720p, and 1080i, it has a nat. resolution of 1280 x 768.

I just picked up my first HDTV a few days ago.   Since it will be used for gaming at least half the time, I opted for a 32" Widescreen Panasonic.   The difference is absolutely stunning.

Very nice, but the speakers SUCK. But I'm quite satisfied hooking it's output to my PC speakers. Anyway, I'm using it as a PC Monitor/TV/360 screen. But the 360 and PC looks best. TV's kinda pixely. I just love being able to us the PC from the sofa.

PS($500)

You call me a dork because I made a suggestion for another option on the Poll to choose from.

Good job, you just prooved how immature you are and that you have no class.

You, kid, obviously have an issue if you have nothing better to do then to call me a loser for making simple suggestion for the poll, which you did.

*claps* Congratulations, kid. It's people like you that help ruin respectable message boards and such.

i bought a 55 wide rear projection samsung about years ago, picture still is great btw and at the time, it had the best picture out of all the sets in the store, only thing that sucks is no vga no dvi no hdmi, and only does 480i/480p and 480p/1080i no 720p but it was great for xbox 1

the 360 was ok for most games but madden and nba live seemed to look way better in the stores on the lcd sets, luckily before my boss quit and my supervisor got layed off, they gave me a 2002 comercial model 42" panasonic plasma for free  biggrin.gif  and all im using it for is dual monitor once in a while with my and the 360, whats great is now i dont have to kick my wife off the rear projection so i can play, now she gets to still watch her tv shows while i play the 360  tongue.gif

the plasma supports 480p 720p and 1080i and has a vga but still no dvi or hdmi, but also every rca connection even components are all bnc so i had to spend 45.00 for gold plated bnc to rca adapters, still complain though 45.00 for a plasma, cant go wrong with that
