I did in fact read all the faqs and tuts i could find and i still dont have a good answer. How do i make it so my xbox does not check for the dvd drive?

Do i have to install a new bios/dash or can i keep the one i have now, it is a 360 lookalike, i dont no the name.

Depends on what bios you are using. I recommend using x2 5035. Then you just need this line in the x2config.ini:
CODE
; do dvd drive check
doDvdDriveCheck =  1

I think he's asking to how to disable the DVD-Drive check, in which case the line would be:
CODE
; do dvd drive check
doDvdDriveCheck =  0

Oops, I misread the code...Thought it said no dvd drive check. Do what Drewcool said.

You edit the x2config.ini file, not the bios itself. Just open it in notepad or wordpad and edit it. Then ftp it over to your e drive.
