Unlocking & Modding Cars - Quarter Mile Drag Race
« on: September 05, 2005, 02:35:00 AM »

Ok, I just started playing this game [ well totally new to XBOX honestly! lol ] and I'm really just interested in the drag racing part right now [ plus I absolutely SUCK at doing laps with the controller... need a steering wheel for that!  :P ]

Anyways.. it appears to me that the only way to unlock cars and modify'em [ other than just adjusting the tire pressure   ] is to win in the laps .. Is that correct ?

Can I unlock and modify cars [ suspension, engine mods, dyno etc etc ] by racing the quarter mile only ??

Just wondering  :)

Thanks!!

Yeah, its in Point to Point tracks, Quarter Mile track. Most cars will finish it within 15 to 10 seconds, so its not That fun.

There is a way by creating a profile with a specific name... Check Gamefaqs or search the forum. Hell, there is a topic not more then 3 around yours that has it. Too lazy to look for it. lol

lol yeah I'm using that profile

I know the quarter mile poimt to point isn't all that fun.. but I totally suck at steering the cars using the controller!!

I wish there was a good responsive steering wheel out there for the XBOX that didn't cost an arm and leg!

Made a low 9sec cool.gif  pass
Using the Mines skyline
Hint: Turn off (Traction Control) an use the wheel spin to get of the line faster

Was trying for High 8s but to no avil sad.gif

Fun >buy the Koenigsegg Tune the gear box to use 3 gears only<  biggrin.gif

I personally use the MC2 with Forza and find it is more than capable. It is fairly sturdy, and only cost $35 for the xbox specific version. Forza even has a controller setup setting for the MC2 wheel in the game by default.
