Some Games Don´t Work
« on: January 15, 2005, 04:41:00 AM »

I have a flashed XBOX V1.3 with Bios 4983 and Evox dashboard. Some games that I try to play (not all)  freezes after showing the first screen for no reason. I try to change the HD and DVD drive but same error. Also I have test the games to see if there was a problem with the disk on another XBOX but there was no problem. I have tryed everything, change configuration, check the clock, play the games from the HD but nothign seems to work. Some of the games that doesn´t work are top spin, colin McRae 4, Bloddy Roar 2 and Soul Calibur2. Other games like Halo, LOTR, Matrix, Fifa2004 and  Riddick work without problem. Please Help!! sad.gif .

if you are using an old evox dashboard then turn off the some / all of the IGR's (In Game Reset)

the one that used to cause lots of problems was the IGR in the "misc" part of the evox dash settings - that did cause a problem on soul caibur if my mem serves me correct

you can easily update to evox 3935 if you haven't already done so by simply replacing the older evoxdash.xbe with a 3935 evoxdash.xbe - rename the evox 3935 default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe if need be

dunno if you are using older evox with 3 x IGR's in the settings/evox.ini file

It is possible thate your cache has become coorrupted so try deleting the contents of:

E:\cache
X:\
Y:\
Z:\

you could try a flash with 4981 - i prefer M7 but I never go live

other things.....

did you change and settings in the ms dvd player setup

sometimes if a parental setting is done it won't play some mature games

grab ya m8's h/d and pop it in yours to eliminate a bios or h/d problem

my guess it's something on ya xbox h/d causing this but thought disable or enable the 1 n only IGR in evox would of sorted it one way or another

Ok. I have flash my xbox with 4981 but same error. The only diference is that whe I try to play Colin McRae 4 the screen is also flashing and the game freeze at the same part. When the flames of codemaster logo appear. The parental settings are ok. For example I could play GTA: Vice City. I´m sure there are no problems with the HD nor Drive. I have testes both in another XBOX without problem. Also I have tryed to change the IGR in both options without success. I wonder if this is related with a Pal/NTSC options. Or you think I should buy a chip?

well if you set evox video to

AUTO-DETECT in the setting it should run a ntsc game in ntsc
and a Pal game in PAL

that is about the only other thing it could be - or I'm kinda stumped

check the time/date setting on m$ dashboard if its not set up right , some games will not work (freeze) if the time is not set up right...
it was NOTED on the x2 bios rlease of team xecuter...

go see/check if ur time is right (not on evox, on m$ dashboard)

Time and date are good. Another thing that may help: There are no sound when the game intro Begins.

This may help..........

Delete all the xbe's in the game folders except the "default.xbe" on
the HDD and see if they work.

The games are trying to update your dash files or download new
content.

Update the M$ Dash yourself and try playing them through the M$ dash, and
then try the Evox Dash.

(One other shot in the dark, did you try a different IDE cable as well as another
rom reader power wire for the hell of it.)
