I figured the continued development of PM3 being done by JezzX deserves some recognition. The current version contained in todays t3ch release shows a tremendous amount of progress. I've 100% switched back from mc360.

Thanks Jezz.

Thanks dude Its nice to hear smile.gif Glad people like it.  It might not look it so much from the outside but a hell of a lot of work has changed on the internal code as well and took me ages.

Makes me happy to hear it was all worth it in the end  biggrin.gif

with all the new features added to xbmc, pm3 was getting a little dated and since its the default skin I figured it was time for a upgrade

I wanted to say something to Jezz_X. And i mean this 100% seriously!!!! I am constantly testing all new skins, and as much as i like using MC360 on my xbox's, and here and there use slate, and since yesterday am mostly using Vision, i don't know what it is exactly about the PM3 skin, but in the end, i find myself constantly going back to the pm3 skin.
So with that said, i thank you my friend for keeping up the work and updating the PM3 skin, as i still really find it the overall best one for colors/style/design/navigation. I notice a great difference overall with you recent updates. Thanks for being such a contributor to the scene. I know of everything you have done up til now, and you REALLY deserve a nice vacation. Thanks for everything.
That's the reason i was wanting to make a horizontal version of pm3, where the video's/music/pictures area screens would instead have the left sidebar buttons across the top line edge, and use that extra space to allow 1 or 2 more rows of icons/pictures/video's so you can see more icons on screen to choose instead. So instead of having (in icons view) 3 rows of 4, you would use the whole space and have 3 rows of 6 instead. (Overall, better usage of space.)
I love the new added views. Maybe possible to add a DVD Small, where you can fit maybe 8 in a row (more in view). If anything, possibly change the selected DVD icon one spot over to the left, so as to have 2 icons to the left, and 2 to the right. So you can see evenly on both sides when your flipping through. Seems more even that way if your going left and right equally most of the time to pick a movie/file to watch.
Anyway, i am still plenty happy with it in it's current state, and wanted to thank you for such great work on it, knowing your already such a busy person. In the end, it IS worth it, and highly appreciated by all of us here.

Project Mayhem is the best skin ever - for my taste of course.
It's nice to see you mention about the new views, I like them too!

I just want to suggest to - while on DVD view - move the whole set to the
left, making things more centered horizontally on the screen. The first icon
in the row is too much to the right, it could be nice to have it next to
the left side of the screen, aligned with the folder's name who
appears in the bottom.

BUT - Maybe am I losing something? Kind of online features while
browsing DVD View mode? (My Xbox is 100% offline all the time)...
Please correct me if am I suggesting a non-sense.

Other thing - I love the DVD View so much that it could be
wonderful to have it running on PROGRAMS and PICTURES too.
Is that possible to edit the XMLs by myself and add this
view modes there? And removing some that I don't like?

PS. The DVD view I mean is that one with bigger folder, reflexing
on bottom, without that weird floating panel who appears on a previous
also DVD-View.

One more thing - I am ever tweaking the PM3 gui to better fit my taste,
specially changing icons and backgrounds. Is it against rules to
post links to some entire packages of PM3 MEDIA directory in ZIP format?
(Just mirroring the SVN files with my changes...)
And, what about posting links to textures.xpr files?

Thanks comrades,
JezzX - Keep the good fight!

See here is the thing do I take the word of the few people who post that they don't like it and change it or do I assume that everyone else who dosn't post likes it ?
The reason I put it over there is
1) I don't like it centered
2) It's on that side to help it fill out that side of the screen and maintain balance instead of making it look empty

So I will think it over but no promises

Oh, now I see your reasons.
Yes, it true - when we have only one folder, we can lose
the balance having the right size to empty, and the left one
overloaded.

Well, I am posting here because I love the PMIII skin very much.
I even adapted by myself a entire batch of skins based on it
for Xport emulators few time ago. Everything in my Xbox
uses PMIII.

The only thing I don't like (sorry for the raw sincerity) are the icons.
I prefer the free icons from Iconfactory.com, they have a bunch of
MacOsX icons who fits perfectly in XBMC PMIII skin style. If you
want, I can send you my textures.xpr just for a quick test!
Maybe you start liking their icons too?
smile.gif

I just want to help to improve yet more the whole scene.

Regards,
And thank you very much for your reply, JezzX!

Jezz_X,

My vote for keeping it the way it is now. I added the dvd wraplist patch someone here wrote and it looked ok. It was centered (the highlited dvd cover). I much prefer your implementation. It looks better balanced this way ( on a widescrene 16x9) and more professional. Leave it the way it is ok? I would love to see this view added for music and programs as well. Thanks for everything!

Hi Jezz_X,

Maybe I did it in the wrong way suggesting/asking for a official change in
the alignment - it is only my personal taste and clearly it does
not have anything to do at all with your great work.

Instead, next time I will ask - can you at least point me where
to start searching to make the mod by myself?

I think this is a better statement.
 biggrin.gif

Anyway, just noticed the alignment code for
all view modes are inside the CommonViewTypes.xml?
Correct?

Let's see what I can dig!

Thanks!

Yeah common viewtypes.xml the lines you are looking for are
<include name="VideoDVDWrapView">
and then <focusposition>3</focusposition> change it to 1 or somthign because 0 is the first position
also just under it
<include name="MusicCoverWrapView"> same thing

I'd like to take a moment to commend Jezz here as well.  We love PM3 so much that we use a modified version of it for my distribution package mods as UnleashX's main skin.  I never got any word about it being okay or not to release it to the general populace, and it really isn't "finished" yet, but Project Mayhem: Episode III is still alive and kicking....Jezz, if you ever want to see it, let me know...i'd love your thoughts

Jezzx i really love the new PM3 style. Mostly the reflexing dvd view, who thats so amazing. I'd like to get this also in my music folder (library modus). You say a couple of posts above it's already in music mode. But I can't select it. Any idea what it can be? I am using the  latest T3ch build
