Using Live-demos Instead Kk-> All Kernel Versions
« on: December 07, 2007, 09:06:00 AM »

Hi!
Live Demos and Arcade are able to be copied from the MS-HD and CAN be run from any CD/DVD without the need for a DVD-firmware-patch. Mybe we also could put the +nix on that demo DVD/CD so now discswapping needed or using the network-install?
Also there is a Demo for KK. The Kiosk-Disc only works with older Kernel, since it got blacklisted in newer Kernels.
But maybe the patch works with the KK demo so we could use that one, or another Demo with non-crypted shaders.
And since ther are a lot of downloadable games, the chances would be good looking, right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ph34r.gif)

nope,

demo's are pirs signed.. the only reason why kingkong works is because there are shaders that aren't in xex or signed.. all demo's are signed and have no, yet known, option to decompile edit and resign them.

btw
there is a 'boot from ssda aka localdrive' that you could basicly change into a boot from network.

Thereason why you can't write an shader that boots from tftp aka network is because the shader has a limited size. So they can't but a full blown tcp/ip protocol in it. Maybe they can do a dirty hack with values that 'stuck'. but that would mean that every network with a different ip range would need a different 'shader'
