Help! Scripts Not Working
« on: April 01, 2006, 01:21:00 AM »

Hi there,
I have a problem: Scripts are not working!
I have done this:
Deleted E:\Apps\XBMC directory and all files
Rebooted
Copied All content of Xbmc folder from XBMC-CVS_2006-03-28-T3CH.rar to E:\Apps\Xbmc

Everything but the scripts are working. I have done this with the last 3 Tech versions, but no good.

What is wrong and how do I fix it??

can you explain what exactly happens when you try to run a script? "they don't work" is not informative enough for anyone to tell you anything about anything except "yup, they don't work for you"...

Well, nothing happens... When I try to execute a script NOTHING happens. Not even an error message...
I have been upgrading for every Tech build, and scripts worked fine in XBMC-CVS_2006-02-06-T3CH.

I deleted the entire XBMC folder and rebooted before I installed the last XBMC-CVS_2006-03-28-T3CH.
BTW, I am using Evox as dashboard.

Also having the same issue here with the March 28th build.

In my case, scripts do not launch when accessed via the Scripts Menu.  Navigating to the scripts folder and launcing the individual .py files works.

Have tried re-adding the scripts to the scripts menu with Submenu Editor 1.2, but that didnt help either.

Found the problem - which i'm sure was not a problem because I'm sure it was in some readme, but I'm still to lazy to check for that.

I was using a custom DialogSubMenu.xml which I had modified with my scripts.

Noticed the <execute> tags were replaced with <onlick> tags in the new version with at least this latest release.

I went into my custom DialogSubMenu.xml and did a find/replace for those tags and now it works again.

Work for you, Heavy_Mental?

Problem solved - by itself??
OK, that is strange... My Xbox has been turned off for 2 days and now scripts are working.
Is there some kind of retention period??

No! It did NOT work...
Btw: Even if I deleted the XBMC folder it remembered my settings, i.e Weather settings - where do XBMC cache such settings (and maybe also the Script stuff)??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)
