Can't Connect To Xbox Live Through Ics
« on: January 28, 2007, 09:28:00 AM »

I have tried connecting to XBOX Live via ICS.  When I do the "ipconfig /all" thing it says that DHCP is enabled, but when I try to test the connection the IP Address part fails.

My XBOX 360 is connected to my laptop via the ethernet cable that came with the console and I have ensured that the box is ticked that allows other network users to connect through the computer's internet connection.

I can't view any webpages when that box is ticked.  Is that how it is supposed to be?

thats exactly the reason why it won't work.

unless your laptop NIC is autosensing, you will need a "crossover" ethernet cable
rather than the straight thru' lead that M$ supply with the 360.

in your network connections folder, select both adapters and right click the ethernet adapter you have your internet comming in on, and select bridge.
after the adapters are bridged your router/modem will assign your box an ip via DHCP.

i use this method for packet sniffing.
