Whilst playing CoD last night I noticed that asll the Live convesations were playin out of the sound system instead of my headset. I played around with it and found that as I plugged it back in it would work briefly for a matter of seconds and then revert back to the main sound outlet. I then tried different controllers with the same outcome so I know it's not the headphone jacks. When I tried it 2day I noticed the speaker icon wouldn't even show up next to my gamertag in the CoD lobby. So I then went to Asda and bought a Turtle Beach XLC headset. The speaker icon now displays and I can record via the mic but when I play it back I hear nothing. I've adjusted the volume up and down but still nothing.

Any ideas as I'm stumped?
