Audio But No Video!

It seems a lot of people are getting this problem, is this recently with a new xbox?
To me it seems like an early sign of RRoD.

The xbox is a year old but i bought it used about a month ago it just puzzles me why all of the sudden this is happening it worked great for the first two weeks then when a friend wanted to upgrade the firmware it acts up!
