If you're gonna be 6-8 feet away for movies, you should consider a much bigger TV. You can find a 37" 720p for about $500 if you shop around. Spending $500 on a 26" or even 28" screen, and sitting 8 feet away would be a complete waste of money. Typically Samsung makes some pretty fucking awesome LCDs, so based on brand preference alone, I'd go with #2 there, if I had to. Still though, you could get a much bigger screen and not be able to tell the difference from 720p and 1080p when you're 8 feet away.

Edit - also, keep in mind, that there are currently only 3 XBox 360 games that run in 1080p natively, everything else runs at 720p or lower.

It has a better contrast ratio, so your light and dark balance will be better on the Vizio. I'd go check it out at Wal-Mart, and tell them to let you hook up a 360 to it to test it out, but based on teh reviews, it seems like a pretty decent TV.
