Problems With 1080p
« on: March 14, 2007, 10:56:00 AM »

i ahve sony bravia xbr2 which supports 1080p resolution and when i connected the VGA cable to my xbox and tv then the quality went detoriating. it was really bad so i am thinking that vga calbe only works if u have like a tv that supports upto max 720p and if u have a higher resolution tv i dont think it works. But u know what most of the games on xbox 360 dont support 1080p. In movies it will hardly make any difference.

Hey I just bought the new LG 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor (L246WP) with a native rez of 1920x1200 (amazing display by the way)

I bought the vga cables for the 360 today to see it run in 1080p but it will not for the life of me run in 1080p over vga. Everytime I set it to 1080p it will just go black and display in 640x480. The highest it lets me set it is 1280x1024.

Before you say it may not support 1080p over VGA I tried it with my pc over VGA and it displays 1080p no problem.

Anyway Ive read some other posts having some problems as well, is this just a frequency problem with the 360 that certain displays dont Recognize the 360's output of that rez?

so if you set it to the highest resolution with the vga, the xbox wont hold that resolution? to be honest, your best bet would be component cables

I have a 65" 1080p mitzu dlp tv

i ve tried to get it to set @ 1080p and everytime it will go to setup. *It flickers like a monitor would as if it couldnt handle the resolution* and it ALWAYs comes back to 1080i.

Oh yea ....this is just in dashboard mode.

Im using componet wires. Its no bigg deal as 1080i is a beautiful thing but I saw this post and thought Id add my 2 cents.

I thinkin its casue MS dont support it?

I'm thinkin its cause your tv doesn't support 1080P over component video.  Most don't.  1080i is usually the highest you can go.
