you can use a small dongle type VGA to DVI adaptor but it doesnt change the picture format or contrast etc just allows you to interface with DVI

You do realize that the TV you posted doesn't have a DVI input, right?  

Other than that, it's a damn nice TV.  LG makes good quality panels.  That set has a VGA input, a component input, an HDMI input, 2 scarts and an svideo.

For that monitor I would just use the component cables that come with the premium console.  I would set the xbox to 720p and make sure the HDTV switch on the cable is flipped.

HDCP is a copy protection thing.  I don't fully understand it, but it sounds like the next generation of video cards will all support it and Windows Vista will require it.
