I Got $500-600 What Kind Of Hdtv Can I Get
« on: February 02, 2006, 06:45:00 PM »

I got a 27" inch Sony Wega I picked up in september for $325, I plan on selling it to my bro or friend.  I want to get a widescreen if possible TV 27-30" I dont really need a LCD or flat monitor TV, I would be happy with a tube type.  Any recommendations in my price range that would be great for my xbox 360?  would prefer a name brand, not something off brand.

If you can find one the Samsung txr-2678 is a 26" widescreen hdtv (tuner built in) tube tv.  They were only 500 at best buy last time I saw one, a few months ago, and on top of that you can buy a coupon on ebay to easily get 10% off.

I rcommend a Philips 30PW8420. I picked one up about a year ago for $600, should be cheaper now. Its a good HDTV for the money.

This is one of the best times to go out and buy a TV as loads of people will be returning them after having "bought" them for Superbowl Sunday   biggrin.gif

I'm sure you can find a deal on a slighly used display.

I know that BestBuy has a house brand (Insignia) 30" widescreen that I've seen as low as $499 on sale.  Normally, I'm not a fan of house brands, but I did take a close look at this one.  It does 480p, 720p and 1080i.  Many of the other 30" hdtvs I looked at (with the exception of Sony) didnt do the 720p.  Has a nice black case too.  Just a thought
