are you sure the problem isn't your TV or your reciever

if you're TV is laggy in 480p that could be the cause.

Yeah, same problem here, with most (not all) DVDs I've tried sad.gif

The Xbox360 is not suitable as a media player IMHO.

DVD playback is out of sync on a number of disks and there's not Divx / streaming video. Pathetic, even my mobile phone plays back Divx / Xvid.

Great for games, POS for video playback

It could be the TV.... well its not a regular TV its one of those TV recievers boxes that you connet to the vga of a monitor *still waiting for 360 VGA cable* but that works perfectly well with your bargan basement DVD player  so I asume the xbox360 is at fault. I will connect to my sisters TV later as see what results I get.

*edit*

Actually it could be *fingers crossed* the TV reciever box as the audio is going from the xbox360 to the TV box to the amp. Ill connect the 360 directly to the amp and see if that stops the sync probs.

Connected the xbox to the amp directly and the sync is much better. Still out by a bit but i think I can safely say the VGA tv reciever box is the issue. Can't wait till my VGA cable arrives to make sure.
