I think it's just stating that vga is analog. Can't be sure if it means more, though.

if you have the vgacable for the 360, I would go with that, especially with an LCD.

I'd go with VGA. If your PC works ok, the 360 won't be a problem.

You get a choice of more resolutions if you are using VGA and you should be able to pick one that best suits your TV's native resolution.

For the Sharp, most likely it is either 1366x768 or 1280x720, both of which are supported by the 360.

No difference at all.   A VGA cable just transmits an "RGB" signal.   Which, many people confuse with a "Component" signal.   Component CABLES are red-green-blue, but they send different signals than a standard RGB signal.  You will be fine with the standard VGA cable.
