MS is implementing a strict 3rd party licensing policy meaning that no company can make any cables, controllers, or anything Xbox360 without explicit approval from MS.
The reason is MS recoups profits from accessories and with accessory sales going to 3rd parties MS looses out. So far Mat Catz and Intec are the only 2 companies to obtain licenses and they are only releasing wired controllers and some other things like racing wheels and headsets. AFAIK no one but MS is making hard drives, memory units, wireless controllers, network adapters, or AV adapters.
The MS VGA adapter will NOT be the the VGA adapters available for PS2, Xbox and GC... it will be more like the Dreamcast VGA adapter in that it will be REAL VGA as opposed to a Component video signal converted to VGA.
Though the Xbox will output component video and you should be able to convert that to VGA externally if you desire. though the quality will be far lower than what you have now.
