eatch star needs there own exp. you can make them stronger with it. yes you need to do story on any one you wanna build up. you can unlock unlimited exp by beating genrel manager mode but it only works offline you still need to do story for exp to work online.

losing online well you probly just suck i win some i lose some thats how to works. in svr your win loss does not make your rank its the amount you play. however there are cheap players like any online mode you might wanna avoide bascily they make chars that have the cheapest moves possable and are hard to beat for any unskilled player. helli have been playing svr for ages and there still a challange.
