Trouble Connecting To Xbox Wireless Adapter

I am having trouble networking my xbox with the xbox wireless adapter. I am running a softmodded (MXM - Mechassault exploit) xbox with a fairly recent version of XBMC as my dashboard. Everytime I try to boot to dashboard (xboxdash.xbe) it takes me back to the main XBMC (PMIII Skin) menu. When I insert the xbox adapter disc my xbox freezes at the xbox (original dashboard) start up. Has anyone else had problems wirelessly networking a already modded xbox? I would appreciate any help or advice. Thanks.
