360 Wired Controllers For Orig Xbox

i figured this would go in the usb section, but...
Has anyone just tried splicing? i have 2 wired controllers and a couple of wireless :-p i really like the 360 controller and would love to have  it on my orig xbox.  the wires are probably just like the orig usb with the xtra wire.  so if anyone has tried it, please share your info, i dont have a premium 360 so no drive and no xboxemu. And i would like to know if it works before splicing at somthing that costs 50 bucks, but if i gotta be the first let me know, so i can commit myself to it

it won't as the hardware is not supported by the xbox. Only certain linux kernels can handle the 360 controller. Also how is this related to xbox 360 hacking?
