Any Usb Wireless Adapter With X360?

The xbox adapter is dual band a+g. Download the video on networking the xbox360 from Live. It talks about media streaming using the A band to dodge interference from microwave and 2.4 ghz phones.

It works in the front port and the back ports.

It's meant to fit on the back.  usb is just above the ethernet:

It looks messy when plugged in the front.

I had an ASUS 802.11b ethernet bridge which I used with the original box which used USB for power (via xbox-usb convertor from ebay):

Worked fine for live (red line is the power - i made these pics years ago to show a mate)

item is Asus WL-330 dirt cheap now if you can find them.

can be used as an Access Point or an Wireless -> Ethernet Bridge

Hey loserkid, jus been looking at these nifty little units and read that a cd comes to install them. How did u go about installing any software or does the 360 jus recognise the equipment??? Let me know as this is the cheapest (and smallest) alternative ive seen yet to MS's unit.

I did some reading right after posting, and MS uses their own protocol on the USB device. Just hope a 3rd party manufacturer makes one.

Bridges just act like an ethernet cable to your xbox. The xbox thinks its just cabled into the network, so no software is needed for the xbox.

Normally you just connect the bridge to a PC to set it up, then save the the settings, and install it into its spot next to the xbox. Easy stuff.

Kirkyjism - to set it up you need to cennect it to your pc first, I did have a setup CD but you just need to go to the IP of the device: 192.168.1.1 i think and then use the web based interface to connect to an AP and set encryption etc.

Once it has rebooted, just plug it into your 360/xbox1 and you can access Live

will have a look tonight

guys im a noob and dont fancy giving £60 for the 360wireless adapter.

Was thinking of either getting this

http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/171456/art...#fichetechnique

or the ASUS WL-330 to set up a wireless bridge to my xbox 360.

Whats best ( and easiest ! )

Would like to get myself one of those Asus devices - anyone know a good place to get one? The cheapest I can find is £32GBP for the latest model or e.£20GBP for the non-G device. Any ideas for the UK?
