Dreamcast Emulator?
« on: December 26, 2002, 04:59:00 AM »

What emulators for the XBOX are there? SNES, NES, Dreamcast and so on? Especially dreamcast, does it or will it exist?

Best regards,
Mikael.

It will be hard to emulate Dreamcast on the Xbox though, sure the Xbox has enough power but their isnt even a Dreamcast emualtor for the pc yet. Personally I think it would be pointless to have a Dreamcast emulator becuase it wouldnt beable to read Original games and you would have to reburn all of your Illegal and Legal backups to CDRW's unless you did the Pot Tweak or have a Samsung dvd rom drive in your Xbox.  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif  sad.gif

And we already have all kinds of Sequels and Remakes of Dreamcast games out on Xbox. Like:

*House of the Dead 3  (W/ House of the Dead 2 port)

*Sega GT 2002

*All of the Sega Sports games except for Sega Tennis.

*Jet Set Radio Future

*ToeJam & Earl 3 (Canceled Dreamcast Game)

*Crazy Taxi 3 (All levels and characters from 1,2,and NEW 3)

See at this point of time I think it wouldnt be worth havin a Dreamcast emulator on the Xbox...........

HeHeHe though....I would like to be playin Power Stone on my Xbox though, that would be TiGhT.  biggrin.gif

True 128 bit processing...i've heard that, among other things, makes the dreamcast a pain in the ass to emulate. Same thing with saturn (multiple processors, correct?)...however, PSone seems VERY feasable. I remember bleem worked even a little bit on my 100 mhz pentium 1. Ran bubble bobble 2 REALLY slow  :P . However, that means a 733mhz geforce machine has a chance. FFVII on xbox...oh man B)

add MS-DOS, Amiga, Commodore 64, Sega Master System/Game Gear, NeoGeo Pocket, PC Engine/TurboGrafx 16, Spectrum, Atari 2600, and Final Burn Alpha to that list

You can find some info at http://www.emulati0n.com/ and http://www.xbox-emulation.co.uk/
These sites focus more on emulation, but you won't find the emulators there. Gotta look in usenet and irc for that.

believe it or not, there are actually several for the pc that work pretty well.. of course in order to use them you have to have the enitre game on your harddrive, and then it runs off of the ip.bin.. (dc-sceners can back me up here).. So perhaps one of these could be ported to the xbox.. but it would be a difficult task.. and to play it, you would have to find and download all the games, or copy them from any backups your have, and ftp them to the xbox

And Virtua Striker sucks. (Sega Soccer Slam takes place of Virtua Striker.)

If there is a working DC emu for the PC,why not mention it's name, or even post a link?
