Media Can't Be Played
« on: November 19, 2011, 10:50:00 AM »

Hey guys,
Wonder if anyone can give me any help for this, it's really bugging me. I have 2 360s in my house, one in the main room, and one in my bedroom. The main room is used for gaming and watching movies etc, but the one in my bedroom is exclusively for a media player. I use it to watch AVIs off of a PC server.

The problem I am having is with the xbox in the bedroom. I only have a silver account on it, as I have no need of Live and no desire to keep moving memcards around or downloading my profile. I want to use the box for videos, but it forces me to sign into Live because a media update is required. This has been downloaded several times, but it still won't stop harassing me about it. It doesnt require me to sign in on my main xbox, so is there a way to stop it on this one?
It connects to the network via Wireless G, and ends up disconnecting after a while for no apparent reason, and this causes it to stop playing because the file is unplayable. It's getting quite annoying. Any suggestions?
