Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to stream these HD file formats to my 360? Or a program to transcode them? tHANKS!

well, i've determined that extracting vc-1 from and .evo is difficult; i'm still playing with evox demuxer trying to get a usable stream. if you're still trying...any luck?

ok...i'm betting this thread is dead (are there only two people trying to accomplish this??), but in case anyone is searching for answers, it appears there's no definite way to manipulate a vc-1 .evo for playback on the 360....YET. i've been following EVOB de/multiplexers thread on doom9 for quite a while, and people have been having varying degrees of success rendering the audio and video streams on their PCs. there's no consistent method that works. however, a couple people managed to "mux" the vc1 stream into a refined matroska, minus dd+ audio. altho i'm having the damndest time managing to make this work myself, if anybody else could, it would be feasible at this point to mux the mkv and mpa together using DVBs wmvmuxer. i beleive the method is on page 9 of the thread mentioned earlier. if anybody is pursuing this, please post results/ideas here to get it rolling. good luck.

success! at least partial. i managed to get a playable .avi (no sound yet) from an .evo. all that remains is getting the vc-1 data from it into a wmv. will post more later.

alright, real progress. i feel like i'm yaking to myself, hopefully this helps someone down the line. starting with a vc-1 .evo, i've created a wvc1 .wmv that plays thru the 360 - spec-fucking-tacular. all that remains is downmixing the audio to 2 channel and adding it to the container. at least for my setup. once again, instructions to follow...

i feel more and more like i'm the only one here every time. but here's the steps, for video at least.

you'll need Graphedit: http://www.doom9.org...s/graphedit.rar
Haali Media Splitter: http://www.digital-d...w...sid=0&did=2
MKV MergeGUI: http://www.bunkus.or...2.0.0-setup.exe (be sure to update it also: http://www.bunkus.or...20070117-1.rar)
MKVExtractGUI: http://download.vide...ctGUI-1.6.4.zip
Sonic HD demuxer: find the sonic decoder pack, or install scenarist. Elecard's demuxer is supposed to be used, but i had no joy with it. if you don't have sonic, or it doesn't work, try this instead.
WMVMuxer: http://www.digital-d...w...sid=0&did=1

Start by building a graph in graphedit using file source async to pick your demuxed video stream, your demux filter (sonic or elecard), and haali's matroska muxer (make output filename *.mkv). string them together in that order, then press the play button to render the new file. more than likely you won't be able to tell when it's done (sucks), just hit stop after you can't stand it. you should have your mkv file.

the resulting .mkv file will contain invalid vc-1 data. make time.txt, and put these lines in:

# timecode format v1
assume 24.000

fire up MKVMerge GUI and drag/drop the mkv file in. the tracks section should show your video stream. select that track, and the text fields below will de-stiple, browse to the timecode *.txt file you made and choose it. select a suitable output and click start muxing.

you should have a refined .mkv file now. bring up MKVExtract GUI and drop this refined file in, select the video track under content (checkbox). click extract, and lo and behold, there's your vc-1 data inside an .avi.

utilize DVBPortals WMVMuxer to get that data into your .wmv file. obviously it's recomended to use the WVC1 profiles. fire up the 360 and make sure it's SAT.

this guide is just a stripped down version of the excellent one made by Isochroma over at Doom9, so he get's all the credit. i just threw wmvmuxer into the mix. if you want screenshots, and to read more about the process, check out http://forum.doom9.o...9698#post939698. he's also made an excellent guide on refining an AVC evo, mentioned on his post.

i would suggest reading thru that thread at doom9 if you want to manipulate your audio. of course once you get the stream the way you want it, just mux it with the avi back into a wmv. good luck.

alright folks, disregard the graph in the guide above. this one works better:
file source (a.sync)>haali splitter>haali muxer (send audio from splitter to null renderer)

the rest of the guide should be good.

FUCK YEAH! i nailed it. get WMV11 SDK so you have the stream editor. make your video file, and make your audio wma. mux together with stream editor and enjoy 1080p via 360. FUCK YEAH!

Hell Yes! I will be trying this this weekend and getting back with you. I can help you get a guide together too once I get the process 100% down.

Gotta use Graphedit. those are filters that you use to encode the .evo. Google, go to www.doom9.org forum's, or wait and there will be a tutorial soon

update: CAUTION. the guide above states to use wavdest>file writer to get raw audio. directx does indeed impose a 4GB limit on the file writer which will cut the show short. the evob de/multiplex thread at doom9 suggests using dump (included with graphedit) to extract raw audio as it can exceed the 4GB limit. still haven't verified a working graph using this filter but i'm working on it, without wavdest in the graph. if anybody else can verify this or another method works, plz post.
