360 Does Not Show Video Output When Playing Dvds
« on: August 16, 2006, 02:40:00 AM »

i tried to plug in a dvd tonight and the 360's screen went black.

I've got a premium, using Component cables going to a Pelican System Selector, then to a X2VGA 2 box, then to a Mitsubishi Megaview Pro 37 monitor, by means of the VGA connection.

first movie, 5th Element, showed black screen.

2nd movie, Dark City, started to show picture, then crapped out and black screened.

can't find anything on this in forums....can anyone help?

EDIT:
------
Movie 3, The Crow Collector's Edition, started fine during the "warning" screens, crapped out for menu.....black screen, no guide or anything else available or visible.

I just watched a DVD fine last night, I have a premium with the MS VGA cable, going into my Samsung DLP. Audio & video were fine.

Try picking up the VGA cables, the output with them is much improved since the last dash update, as well as upscaling DVDs to your output resolution.

ouch.....i'd have no way to keep them plugged in....all the rest of my component systems go thru the Component --> VGA box...
