Just to let you know...FAT32 works fine; BUT it wont show up as a storage device, goto the media blade and look for it in either Music or Pictures(the external HDD will not play videos/nor will it store save games etc.) but you can play music or stream pictures. It will NOT be in the storage tab. It is known has a plain device.
