Anyone Get A Universal Remote To Work With The 360
« on: November 26, 2005, 03:18:00 AM »

I was wondering if and Universal remotes work with the 360 or if anyone knows the codes. I want to only have one remote but the xbox 360 Universal Remote only controls TVs and I need one that will controll the 360, my TV, my reciever, and maybe the Xbox1

I seen that remote as well when I went to pay for my XBox360 on launch but it would be nice to be able to use the Universal Remote I already own which I use to use on XBox1

Wait, are you saying that you need the codes for the universal remote so that it works with your television and Xbox 360 all at once? If so, just tell me the company that makes your television, examples are Zenith, Philips, Sony, etc. Then I'll give you the code if you want.  smile.gif

No what we want to do is use our current universal remote controls we have in our homes to control the xbox360 and not have to go out and buy another remote and have to use two remotes

I got mine off ebay for 150 instead of 250. It was brand new in the box too!! This thing does it all from lights...to almost anything. I hit the botton that is beside play xbox 360. Turns the sony tv to video 6, turns surround sound on to the dvd input, and boots up the 360. Then if I can hit watch tv, and it switches it to video 7, cable box comes on, and the surround sound goes to sat/cable. Its great! Plug into your computer to program. Its very very easy.

I would assume any universal remote that has a learning function will work. You could even use your PDA or HP48g calculator with the right software.

Whiteboytroy: do you have functioning Volume and Mute buttons on your remote ( I guess you would only know in media center extender)

because i use a Harmony 880 and the codes i got from logitech on launch day had no mute button and non functioning volume buttons.. i should download the codes again im sure they must be up to date by now

The first Xbox used RCA DVD player remote codes for it's remote. Maybe the 360 does too? I'm not able to really test the theory since the universal I own is a Logitech Harmony as well.

I have the same one, it's great...but if you are thinking about getting one Best Buy sells the new XBOX 360 Logitech Harmony remote for 129...you can probably find it cheaper...it may not have AS many features, but it looks really good and it's a good price.
