Config Magic On Dvd-r
« on: January 08, 2003, 06:53:00 PM »

I have the ConfigMagic_Public_Beta_2.rar release of Config Magic.

I placed it on my EvoX boot DVDR, and referenced it from Evox.ini. I can select Config Magic, but when I start it, it just sits at the loading screen and never starts.

I have tried (2) different downloads of it, and it still just sits there.

Before I continue, will Config Magic run of DVD-R boot disc, or should I install it to the HDD? Also, does it just need the XBE Patch applied?

Any help would be appreciated... Thanks!

Do you have all the proper folders? There is a media folder and a data folder.

Yes. Double checked the data and media folder... All the files match the rar file... Sorry, forgot to mention that right off the bat!

You created these directories on the CD? You do have the unbanned EEPROM.BIN file in that location?

I have never worried about the CFG file..

I don't actually have this file, referenced in the INI: "D:\Applications\CfgMgc\data\eeprom.bin"

Does that matter? I would only think it would if I was going to actually flash my eeprom. Just starting the app, it shouldn't need it, right?

Yes. That is the correct path on my boot cd... (I have like 10 apps on this CD, the others are working...)

BTW, Shanafan, I did a "backup" in Evox. I have my "backup" folder saved on my PC, as well as on the xbox c:\ drive... I know have the eeprom.bin file, and the othe backup files.

I have not yet installed Live. I am just getting everything backed up before I start...

I just downloaded a third rar of Config Magic Beta 2.. Any other ideas?

Undead, while you are doing that, I am also burning the disc again, this time with the blank eeprom and cfg distributed by "Life Info". Maybe it just needs to see an actual eeprom file present, since it is pointing to it in the INI file?

So you DO have to run xbe patch on it to make it work? That is probably all I have to do then...  dry.gif

Thanks!
