Scott Andreassi tells A-B-C Peggy Jo Conner had claimed she was pregnant and was "preparing for the arrival" of a baby. She had a baby swing and other gear in her trailer home. But officials say Conner wasn't expecting.

Instead, they say she hit her eight-months pregnant neighbor with a baseball bat and took her to a secluded area. Officials say she tried to cut open the woman's abdomen, but was spotted by a teen, who told his father. They later called for help.

Conner was arraigned yesterday on charges of attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

The mother is in critical condition. The baby was delivered by Caesarean and is in stable condition.

This makes me want to move out of PA.  Disgraceful.  And I live on the opposite side of the state.

Why does this shit happen in America?  Does stuff like this happen across the pond (I know we have some guys from over there)?
