too true, and nothng can be done about the theatres as well... i used to work in one (assistant manager) and they stop you at every pass... they tell you to make people be quite and respectful but then bend over for those very same people when they complain... the whole thing is fucked: theatres only get a few cents for every ticket sold, thats why the concession prices are so high...

This only applies to prerelease movies, right?  I don't care if I have to wait a few more days to get a copy of my movie...

If this is all about leaking files before they're released, then I could understand the frustration of the publishers.

the raging idiocy of these anti-"piracy" fuckheads is mind numbing; what the fuck ever happened to things like supply-and-demand: you know that little concept capitilism is based on, you know, has something to do with a supplier can charge what the market(demand) can support. well gee, thats funny, it seems that the media corporations are charging just a tiny bit more than the market is willing to support, and what has happened? oh look, the market is finding an alternative.  well gee fucking willakers batman! it seems that the entirity of the U.S. population is not spineless.

so what happens? mindless big media corp executive a "hey big media corp exec b, looks like people dont like us raping them, seems there are some who dont wanna pay for the information that other people created that we want to profit on." big media corp exec b "well its not like were losing any money." exec a " i just had a great fucking idea! lets charge more on the pretense that we cant pay our poor, starving artists and just keep pocketing the profit so it really looks like the industry is losing money!"

you know, slowly our country is becoming more socialistic, but not in the since that the government is taking over business(though regulation has pretty much made every small company a puppet)big business is taking over the government. its worse now than it ever was back in the 1920's with standard oil, u.s. steal, and all the other "big" monopolies were around, yet the public noticed and did something about it by getting their representatives to do their job, represent public opinion. but now the media corporation is protecting itself in what it produces to sway the lowest common denominator. with the idiots of world under their control they can enact policies to silence those who have the intelligence to know whats going on, those who try to reveal the truth. so what are you going to do when the last of your rights are stripped away from you? me, im going to sit in my house that i dont pay taxes on, with my shotgun without serial numbers that i bought off the black market, loaded with illegal hollow point slugs, downloading spiderman 3 off some p2p, using the internet connection i dont pay for.  you've got to fight for your right

edit:this rant is rather incoherent but ive gotta vent; riaa = economic rapists

They have been making billions scamming us with crap music, games, movies and software for years. And you cant take it back if it sucks. If they would have lowered prices when P2P first came on the scene they wouldnt have to turn to Bush to help them. I think if they dropped prices 30-50% on all media people wouldnt mind shelling out the cash and im sure they will still be getting paid. Look at rappers, they are gonna have to get cubic zirconia instead of ice if they dont fix this problem soon. Good luck to them.

Here In Canada The RIAA And The MPAA Can't Do Shit, They Have To Go To The GRC, (Even The FBI Can Do Shit Here, They All Have To Go To The GRC), And Usually (99% Of The Time) They Are Running After The "Hells Angels" Or The Numerous Groups Of Mafia, So Before They Take The Time To Knock To Someones Door And Ask : " Did You Downloaded Pr0n From The Internet ¿", You Will Have The Time To Get All The Jenna Jameson DVD Collection.

I Do Get Stuff From The Internet, But I Still Buy My DVD's And My Music (I Own Over 250 DVD's Originals).

PS : I Love PeerGuardian !

Some artists probably like the filesharing of their works since it gives them a world-wide audience. And people could save more money to see them in concert. The last 20 cd's I have bought in the last month are by artists I heard of through filesharing. And I probably wouldn't have bought those cd's without filesharing.

But I know that one day the RIAA and MPAA will get there own way and cd/dvd burners will be made illegal. Isn't there a law about how many cd's you're able to make a backup copy of, only one for every cd player in your house? Just look what there doing know. They have LOTS of money and can do anything they want. George Bush has done an outstanding job as president. Although I can't see why the AA's aren't happy with the powers they already have.
