Actually I grew up where it snowed, and snowed alot.  It was seldom very grungy at the end of the winter.  Melting snow pretty much took all the mixed-in nastiness with it.  Then again, if by filth you mean a little dirt, I suppose you make sense.  But I also didn't live in a big city with the accompanying human-added garbage everywhere.

I don't think you're capable of writing a post without including ridicule.
