Click-Me Contests.. plz don't post these in General or other forums in an effort up up yours or a friends contest standing. It's tend to end up be ethically unsound.. and unfair to others who don't hound people. Bottom line.. XS isn't here to help you or your friends profit in a contest. We'll consider this spam.

BIT TORRENTS - Links to TORRENTS are not allowed on XS. Well over 95% of all torrents links or gate sites lead to warez.. so we simple won't allow the links to them here.

It seems some members on this board think X-S is a personal playground, and quite frankly, the lack of respect is disgusting.

Xeero has been taking heat form some members here for doing his job - and if the complaints were expressed in a respectful, and PROPER manner, it would not be a problem... but when you start calling mods names and pitching your little hissy fits in response, well, the gloves are coming off.

There WILL be a house cleaning soon. I think those who end up getting swept up will be able to figure out which MEMBERS (note: not MODs, but MEMBERS, because they are the ones responsible for their actions) were responsible for pushing the buttons and causing the backlash.

Xantium provides this forum for the Xbox community. It's not here for you to hurl insults, post mindless drivel, or take out your personal problems on others. There's no 'right of free speech', and the admins & mods ultimately have the final word on any matter here.

General Chat is given a lot of leeway and meant to be a place where X-S members can socialize a bit. Lately, things have gotten WAY out of hand. Signatures have become battlegrounds (and BTW, are getting WAY too large), and several users think it's their own personal turf.

Enough is enough.

This will NOT become Isonewz.com. If you want to play turf war, go start your own forums and play there. It's clear people have forgetten what this place is about, and now it's reached a boiling point.

This will serve as notice for SIG Rules.. until XANTIUM posts this same set either as an entrance to the forums.. on the topic of each forum section.

XBOX MOD will pm those of you that may need minor alterations of the sig so it'lll comply. He however.. cannot CHANGE your sig. HEAD MODS will eventually do that.

Max 4lines of txt (NO 'large' or 'largest' size)

Max 1 image (gif/jpeg/png)

Max size image is 450(w) x 125(h) pixels

NO animated gifs allowed

NO offending/illegal images or text allowed

No referral URLs of any kind

It goes without saying.. OUTWARS or OUTPIMP in the SIG.. will also be summarily deleted.

NEW - Rules will be enforced at the admin's and moderator's discretion; reasonable variances will be allowed, as well as extenuating circumstances that may permit exemptions from the rules (such as helpful info)

At the time of this writing.. we have close to 55000 members.. over 20000 posts per day. Sig policing is not a high priority.. but every day.. a few more are done. It's up to the membership to fix their own sigs.. and bring them in line. The moderators take a small amount of time each day.. to address the sig situation.. and will not simply neglect other duties.. just because someone has thrown a hissy fit. If you think a moderator has unfairly targeted you for a sig violation.. contact me.

Due to abuse by SOME members using XS to request funds.. please.. no DONATION posts, threads etc on this site. Excptions allowed for dev who have produced tangible software for the scene. (noted excepted.. mxm and craxtion amongst others). We'll hold this policy strict. Contact me for any clarification you might need.

Not to take anything away from what my favourite MXM author has said.. just wanted to add this:

BENJEREMY, XEERO, and GAINPRESENCE have worked hard.. and have the full support of the ADMIN staff. I'll be working close with them.. to identify problem areas.. and individuals.. and to effect a smooth and efficient solution to recent problems and issues.

Don't forget to show your appreciation for the work they do here.

I've started this new blood process.. with MR ED and MAGE.

MR ED.. has shown time and again.. and afinity for the DVD section of XS.. with his helpful manner.. polite and courteous ways.. and level headedness. He also uniquely qualified.. having not only a complete cornocopia of PC based XBOX knowledge.. but also MAC centric knowledge too. All of which are evidenced in his posts.

MAGE on the other hand.. is not the heavy poster that MR ED is. He however.. is equally helpful... and knowledgeable about all thing XBOX. He was given 4 forums to Moderate.. as these are ones he has a high level of interest in.. and enough expertise to make for an effective mod. He's not quick to flip out.. and has shown at times other traits that make him supremely qualified for the spot. He is also an exception to the idea that some of you have.. that POST COUNT matters. In fact.. he has little or no posts currently in his appointed areas. If things go well.. it well stay that way.

He's been appointed 4 "SMART" forums... which lack most of the idiocy we find in General. They require less involvement.. but more "smarts". I'm sure.. he'll do a fine job.

I'm considering other members.. for others spots.. and in the coming weeks.. you'll see some more old faces.. and a few new ones.. moderating SINGLE forums. ADMIN and HEAD MODS will vote on it.. and will not be considering some of the assinine "MAKE ME MOD" posters.

Now on to other matters.. as we rush into the dog days of summer.. it would appear that some of the members continue to abuse this site, and figure it's their toilet. BenJeremy mentioned the SPRING CLEANING.. well.. sorry it took so long BENJ.. but how about MID SUMMER CLEARANCE days?

Some of the offenders are on their last lives now. The only reason they are still here.. is the not all of the MODS have voted them off the island. (Holidays you know!)

Also note.. when someone is banned.. it's frankly non of anyone elses business. It's an administration decision, that takes into account the input from the staff. Do not be surprised if your thread like "Why is "x" banned" gets deleted, moved, etc.

XS is not required, nor willing.. to explain actions that are based internal policy. Xs Policy is not up for debate. Accept it or start your own site with your own set of rules.

On that note...

Consider this HUG A MOD week. Some of you may need those brownie points.

GIRLY PIN UP THREADS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED ON XS!

The 3 previous GIRLY pinup threads had to be heavily moderated.. and there was still abuse.. so they were removed.

The POLL on SHAKIRA and BRITNEY was fine.. until members decided it was fine to bring back the girly thread.. then.. a dickhead decided to post pics that were against the original guideline of the old girly threads.

So.. let me be clear..

People posting Pics which violated the old PIC standards.. will be not be WARNED next time.. they will be BANNED. XS is not a softcore PORN site. Don't like it.. then leave.

ANTI-MOD Polls and such, in the forums.. will be closed.. and moved to GARBAGE or other private forums.
