i know about the european version of the xbox (looks like the debug kits) but ive never seen a clear black one.. did i just miss this? heres the link

oh ok. the site says its special edition, and i thought all the boxes had the green jewel (and opaque case for that matter).

i was talkin about publicly released 'special' boxes. and that first one lookes photoshoped sorta, the way the colors are. looks cool, but still...

There have been four Special Editions of the Xbox to date. In the order of their release, they were:

1) Launch Party Edition: Clear Jewel with Bill Gates' signiture in it.

2) Japanese Special Edition: Translucent grey (smoke) case that came with two translucent grey controllers (S) and a special keychain with Bill Gates' signature engraved on it.

3) Panzer Dragoon Orta Xbox: Only released in Japan. It is white with some PZO art on it and comes with a matching white controller, a copy of PZO, and a special PZO pendant.

4) European Special Edition: Translucent Green. Don;t really know what it comes with yet.

who needs special editions? not like i'd turn one down, but with a rumored price drop coming up, I could get 2.4 regular xboxes for the price of one crazt asain xbox!! :jester:

maybe a neon - UV reactive - clear sound reactive box
ohhh the shinys :)

well look at PS1/PS ONE PS2 and Dreamcast all had multi colored *clear* cases available from hongkong after thier release (and N64 even had standard systems in multiple clear colours.
so it will only be a matter of time before the xbox gets the same treatment (hopfully :)

well hopefully also not in realy fruity colors...the #1 requirement for a special edition or color change is that it MUST LOOK COOL!
