I havea hot glue gun (need to find it first) and was wondering if it's safe to use it to hold wires in place on the Xbox motherboard?

Well, Wal-Mart has 2 types: High temp and Medium temp. If you are worried about the mobo, get the medium temp. I bought a cheap high temp for 1.97!

I duno, I would be realy scared to touch my board with a glue gun, It will work, but dont leave it on the actual board.  To hold them in place temporarily??  Or to leave them there?  Zip Ties are good for that kind of thing.

The glue is not conductive, so it wouldn't matter if you pumped it all over the mobo.
The only issue is heat build up, a component that run quite happily in an air cooled environment might fail with hot glue all over it causing heat buildup. ;)

some PC's I’ve seen have ridiculous amount of hot glue over the IDE mobo connectors with glue splattered all over the mobo circuitry. This doesn’t seem to affect the system @ all.

It should be fine as long as u don't touch the metal glue gun to the mobo. actually the broken trace link in opjose's sig actually recommends it!

Hot Glue has saved my Ass most than once.. :)  In small amounts.. is perfectly safe!

OPen many home electronics.. and you'll find Hot glue all over the place.  Usually holding small cabling in place...

Do you know if it will work if it's just a plain old cheap $7 glue gun from Target?  :D

Cheaper the better..

tends to mean that the GLUE is cheaper.. and the gun doesn't get nearly as HOT! :)

I've used hot glue many times on my dish network receiver tsop locks. Its always kept my wires from falling off. Thank God for the stuff.
