This is the shit for me.

I used Gordians Knot ~found here http://www.doom9.net
To encode a 5-6 gig DVD down to about 1.8 or so gigs.
Its very easy to use and
The quality is Incredible
and XBMP2.2 has no problems playing them back off the network.

I can now cycle though about 15 recent release movies at will.
Plus just about anything else I can D/L off the internet.

I use Relax to setup the streaming service from my PC.

SAMBA support is flakey at this time.
Don’t get the two cfg file setups confused in the Manual.

Good Luck!

Will Samba work in windows 98? Im trying to set it up and am lost. What do i type in for work group, computer and the other columns?

Sure will, Workgroup = the name of your workgroup, its in your network settings, chances are tho that it may be just workgroup, as it was the default by installation

The computer name is also the name given to the computer on install...

The easiet way i guess to find them out, go to Network Neighbourhood, All netwerk (or sumthing similar from memory), then you will see your "Workgroup Name" , the go into that and you should see your computer.

I assume you have set up shares on this computer so that your xbox can connect?
