The XBMC devs haven't really posted in this forum for quite some time, so I assume they don't read it any more either. You'd probably have better luck reporting bugs over here.

Regarding the network cable thing, apparently it makes the connection more stable for systems which are networked. Or something. I'm not sure I really understand it, but arnova had a go at explaining it here.

Oh okay, so it's not a bug. A bit annoying but no biggie.

More importantly, although I haven't downloaded the latest XMBC yet, apparently the Seek Bar Stickage has finally been fixed!
